Vasiliki Georgoula is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism Economics and Management, School of Management Sciences at the University of the Aegean. She holds a PhD from the Department of Geography at the University of the Aegean, focusing on the role of international festivals in tourism and cultural development. She holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in eTourism from the University of Surrey, UK, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in European Languages, Society and Culture from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK. She has worked for several years as a business executive, tourism business consultant and vocational training consultant.
She teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and collaborates as a researcher in national and European research projects. She regularly participates in international scientific conferences and publishes articles in international scientific journals. She serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals and is a member of scientific committees and a member organizing committees for international conferences.
Her research and teaching interests focus on the fields of cultural tourism and sustainable development, festival and event management, and tourism geography.
